Home Renovation Savings program
The Home Renovation Savings™ program, a partnership between Enbridge Gas and Save on Energy, supported by the Ontario Government, aims to help Ontarians improve home energy efficiency and comfort. Save on Energy is a brand of the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO). The program offers flexible options for homeowners, allowing them to choose single or bundled upgrades for greater savings.
Attic Insulation Rebates (No Home Energy Assessment Required)
This stream allows homeowners to upgrade insulation in their attic, cathedral ceiling, or flat roof without needing an initial home energy assessment. To qualify for these specific rebates, 100% of the total area of your roof assembly must be insulated. The rebate is calculated at 50% of the total attic insulation cost (after tax), up to the maximum amounts listed.
The primary advantage of this program is that it does not require an energy audit, unlike other programs. As a result, there are no additional costs associated with an audit, and the process is faster, allowing for quicker completion of the work and receipt of the rebate.

General Eligibility Requirements for the Program
To qualify for the Home Renovation Savings program, you must:
- Own your home
- Live in an eligible housing type, which includes single detached or semi-detached homes, row/townhomes, and mobile homes on a permanent foundation.
- Be an Enbridge Gas customer with an active account and primarily heat your home with a natural gas furnace or boiler OR be connected to the Ontario electricity grid and heat your home with electricity, oil, propane, or wood.
- New build homes (occupied for six months or less) and stacked townhouses are not eligible.
- You must not have previously received an attic insulation rebate or discount from Enbridge Gas, Save on Energy, or the Home Renovation Savings program for the same upgrade.
- If you heat your home with electricity, propane, oil, or wood, you must be connected to Ontario’s electricity grid. Cornwall Electric customers are generally not eligible unless their home is primarily heated by Enbridge natural gas, as they are connected to the Hydro Quebec electricity grid.
